Visa processing: up to 10 days.

Payment methods:  Bancontact/Mister Cash (at the Embassy) or bank transfer. No cash accepted. All visa fees must be paid in Euros.

All bank transaction fees (currency conversion and etc.) should be paid by the visa applicant, otherwise visa application cannot be processed. For exact currency exchange rate information please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy.

Important notices:

  • All visa applicants must apply in person at the Consular Section to submit biometric data (fingerprints and facial image). In case of refusal, visa application cannot be processed;
  • All double entry and multiple entry visa demands should be sent directly by the Azerbaijani inviting party to the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for the relevant authorization procedure;
  • The Consular Section reserves a right to require any additional documents that it considers to be necessary for visa application procedure;
  • No assurances regarding the issuance of visas can be given in advance. Therefore, the purchase of non-refundable tickets should not be made before visa approval is granted.
  • All foreign citizens visiting Azerbaijan for more than 30 days must register their passports with the local law enforcement authorities.
     

Type of visas

  • single-entry visa - up to 30 days of validity
  • double-entry visa - up to three months of validity
  • multiple-entry visa - up to one year of validity

Applying for a visa

1) Completed Visa Application Form (available in PDF format), duly signed by the applicant. Visa Application Form must be printed in black ink, single sided and had to be filled using BLOCK letters. Correct answers on multiple choice questions should be circled only (do not strike or underline). All the questions should be answered, otherwise the form will not be accepted;

2) Supporting documents which vary according to the type of visa requested (see the list below);

3) Valid national passport (original plus one photocopy);

  • its validity date must be at least three months beyond the duration of the visa applied for;
  • it has to contain at least two blank pages

4) Two (2) biometric 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm color photos with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. Your visa application will not be accepted if the photo size is not correct;

5) Non-Belgian and non-Luxembourg citizens should present Belgian or Luxembourg residency permitt (titre de sejour);

6) Copy of the flight reservation;

7) Receipt of payment (bank transaction statement).

EU Schengen area passport holders - 60 EURO;
United States passport holders - 131 USD;
United Kingdom passport holders - 118 USD.

Supporting documents

Official visit:

  • Diplomatic Note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium/Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, diplomatic representations and international organizations;
  • Copy of the diplomatic/special ID card issued by the Belgian Government.

Note: According to the bilateral interstate agreements, for the holders of diplomatic and official (service) passports, mutual visa-free regime is applied between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the countries, listed here.

Business visit:

  • Letter of invitation from a business counterpart in Azerbaijan (signed and stamped) indicating personal information, purpose of the trip and the duration of applicant's intended stay in Azerbaijan;
  • Certificate of employer/educational organization (signed and stamped) indicating personal information, applicant's position, purpose of the trip and coverage of expenses.

Tourist visit:

  • Hotel reservation. Reservation paper must be signed and stamped by the hotel management. Unofficial correspondence (e.g. e-mail messages etc.) with the hotel will not be accepted;  
  • Certificate of employer/educational organization (signed and stamped) indicating personal information, applicant's position, purpose of the trip and coverage of expenses.

Visiting family or friends:

  • Letter of invitation from relatives or friends in the Republic of Azerbaijan, whom the applicant plans to visit submitted together with his/her copy of the national passport or identity card of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
  • Certificate of employer/educational organization (signed and stamped) indicating personal information, applicant's position, purpose of the trip and coverage of expenses.

Transit visit:

  • Certificate of employer/educational organization (signed and stamped) indicating personal information, applicant's position, purpose of the trip and coverage of expenses;
  • Valid entry visa to a country of the main destination;
  • The validity of transit visa is 5 days.


Rules of issuing the visas to the citizens of states-participants of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest and stateless persons permanently residing in those states, intending to travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the song contest.


In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 10 February 2012 “On the facilitation of visa issuing procedures for the foreigners and stateless persons travelling to the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with “EUROVISION-2012” song contest to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan”:

the citizens of the states-participants of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest and stateless persons permanently residing in those states, who intend to travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the song contest can obtain their visas at the visa sections of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

One of the following documents is considered to be the basis for issuing a visa:

• an official invitation letter issued by the Organizing Committee of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest;
• a document confirming the accreditation in accordance with the relevant rules of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU);
• a ticket or a document confirming the acquisition of the ticket for the concerts of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest. 

The above-mentioned persons can apply in the following period of time to obtain their visas:

• The persons travelling in accordance with the official invitation letter issued by the Organizing Committee of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest, as well as the participants and members of delegations accredited in accordance with the relevant rules of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) – from April 15 until June 1, 2012;

• Journalists and members of the fan club, accredited in accordance with the relevant rules of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), as well as the persons, who obtained ticket for the concerts of “EUROVISION-2012” song contest – from May 10 until June 1, 2012.

Note: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan informed the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad of the rules on facilitation of visa procedures for persons traveling to Azerbaijan in connection with “EUROVISION-2012” song contest. 



Changes in the procedures of getting entry visas by foreign citizens and stateless persons upon arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan

According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 326 dated September 13, 2010, foreign citizens and stateless persons upon their arrival in the Republic of Azerbaijan can get entry visas in the visa sections in the international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the following cases:

1. In the cases envisaged in the interstate and intergovernmental treaties of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

2. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic;

3. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the heads of the central executive power bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman (Governor) of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Head of Special Medical Service of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the management of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslim Department, heads of the foreign companies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the international treaties  supported by the Republic of Azerbaijan, agreed with the State Migration Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan;

4. Members of the diplomatic, administrative and technical staff of the foreign diplomatic missions, consulates, and offices of the international organizations in the Republic of Azerbaijan and their family members, as well as foreign citizens visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan with special diplomatic missions;

5. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan by the official invitation of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the operations to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations;

6. Persons visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan due to the death of a family member, on the basis of the relevant confirmation documents;

7. In the cases visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan of the citizens of foreign countries where the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan are not accredited and having straight air line with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
